THE ADVENTURES OF CHICKOLET PIGOLET Book 3
YOU OUGHT TO BE IN PIG-TURES
Chapter 1
GOOD NEWS FOR THE PIGOLET FAMILY
Chickolet Pigolet worked out in his corn field, measuring the size of the growing ears of corn. Walking between the rows of six foot corn stalks, he was interrupted by a shout of excitement from Mother calling from the house.
“Chickolet! Oh, Chickolet! Come quick!” She waved an official looking letter with a stamped seal at the top of the page. “I have exciting news!”
Chickolet raised his straw hat in the air and signaled to Mother. He scrambled from the rows of corn and trotted up the pathway to the farmhouse into the Pigolets’ newly remodeled kitchen.
“So what’s the good news?” Chickolet poured himself a glass of chocolate milk.
“Sit down! Sit down!” Mother’s eyes sparkled with delight.
Chickolet sliced himself a piece of ice cream pie, taking a seat at the table.
“You’re not going to believe this.” Mother placed the important letter on the table in front of Chickolet. “Do you remember that Crumbles Cookie jingle contest I entered last spring?”
“Yes, of course.” Chickolet stood to speak in his deepest commercial announcer’s voice;
“Don’t let your cookies crumble
When things don’t go your way
Try a bag of CRUMBLES COOKIES
And watch them brighten up your day!”
“Yes!” Mother jumped up and down. “I was awarded First Prize! I won a trip to Hollywood, and four of our friends or family can go!”
“That’s fantastic!” Chickolet hugged Mother. He joined Mother, jumping up and down with joy and happiness.
“I am so excited.” Mother beamed. “I’m taking you, Curly Q, and Sally with me. Isn’t this going to be so much fun?”
“I’ll say!” Chickolet raised his eyebrows. “And while we are there, I can check out some of the motion pig-ture studios.”
“Oh my, Chickolet.” She sighed. “What are you talking about now?”
“Well, Mother,” he said, “you know I have always wanted to be an actor!” He bowed, and his straw hat fell to the floor.
